lukey 1,621
Gnash how would you rate rio for a holiday??
gnasher16 30,095
Lukey id say its one of those extremes of both types of places theres some real beauty along with desperate poverty.....trouble is they are little too close to each other for my liking !....For instance this is from our hotel in Rio around 6am....quite nice im sure you,d agree.. Then this is about half a mile away from the roof of my new friend Marcios gaff.....notice the Maracana in the background.....one of the warmest, nicest families and funniest man ive ever come across by the way And Marcios actual family home... You can be in the nicest parts of town yet still never be more than a hundred yards away from real poverty....i thought Manaus was a nice little place quite picturesque round the Opera House,Sao Paulo was a toilet all over....we saw a fair bit of Brazil in all but for me Rio was the place i liked most it was exciting but not in a dangerous way, food was great some of the meats at the Rodicio,s were to die for.....lovely friendly people.....not overly expensive for a tourist place and of course the beeches were great,....but what i was constantly being reminded of was Rio was scrubbed and cleaned leading up to the world cup and its " not always like this " as we were constantly being reminded ....not sure id rush back there but certainly a place worth visiting. gnasher16 30,095
I would've takin that home with me, and just told the missus thats my new home help Yes but you havent seen my mrs ......the little bird in the picture is actually a bit older than you would probably imagine, good business head on her shoulders as well, smart little lass.......tempting as it was to stay there my mrs has been with me so long now shes almost one of the family so gets the vote ! .....nothing wrong with a bit of holiday romance though im sure my film star good looks and charismatic charm left just as much of an impression on her as she did me so everyones a winner Anyway there was a football tournament there as well England players thanking the fans after the last game Come across a fair few Falklanders around the grounds as well Some of the fan zones were a better atmosphere than in the grounds particularly when Brazil were playing it was fans as far as the eye could see along the Copacabana
